Training Duration 24 hours ( 3 days)

Basic Principle - Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

The Liquid (dye) penetrant testing can be used to locate discontinuities on material surfaces. A highly penetrating liquid (red dye) applied on the test surface will enter discontinuities after a sufficient penetration time. After removing the excess liquid dye on the test surface, a developing agent applied, the defects on the surface will be visible in contrasting colour (red).

This course provides detailed theoretical and practical information on all the commonly encountered Liquid penetrant testing (PT) techniques. Candidates will have the opportunity to use the various techniques on welds, castings and wrought products.
This course meets, the training hour requirements as specified by the American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Recommended Practice documents SNT-TC-1A.
